3rd World Ring-Board Championships. 17/18th October 2009. Cork, Ireland.
As President of the World Ring-Board, I would like to say a special thanks from both myself, and the Essex Ring League, to all the Cork Committee and Associates, which included Finbar Coffey (President, City & North), Tom Lynch (Chairman, Southside), Anthony Murphy, Niall Kelly, and so many others, too many to mention, that made Easter in Essex 2009, another Easter to remember.
I would also like to thank the Cork Rings Committee for hosting the 2009 World Championships, which, in itself, demands a lot of organising, and to date, the progress is outstanding.
I am sure, with this sort of committement by everybody, the event will continue to grow, which can only improve the standard of the Ring-Board game itself.
In promoting the game, I have recently been in touch with New York, sorting out some of their rules, and in the past have dealt with North Carolina, Hawaii, Spain, South Africa, Isle-of-Man, etc., and, as you know, the Isle-of-Wight, England, which has a very strong league, and hopefully, future events will attract some of these Ring-Players to take part.
I am aware that in the Isle-of-Wight, their Summer Season of work committement does not finish until the end of October 2009, and hopefully, they will be able to make the next "All Ireland" at the start of March 2010, in Co Clare, just prior to the Summer Season 2010 start, and I know they have some very good players.
I have only one thing left to say and that is "LET`S PLAY RINGS".
2nd World Ring-Board Open Championships Nov 2008
Last time I say " Where`s you bin".
No Kieran, that`s not what I meant when I said you must throw the Polo Rings in the next round (I think he has fallen in love with them)!!!
Hey Soldier, I told you before, Charlene is eying up the Bud in your hand, not the talent from Ireland!!!
Watch out Marie, I think he is behind you?
Below is the standard World Ring-Board rules, which have been amended by a meeting between the World Ring-Board President, and representatives of the Cork Committee, on 12th April 2009 at the La-Salette Social Club, New Road (A1306), Rainham, Essex, England, for the 3rd World Ring-Board Championships, to be held in Cork on 17th & 18th October 2009.
The adjusted rules will be published prior to the World Championships.
